Signs
The image of a sign is often severely cropped. This deliberate isolation
of letters and words lends an alternative reading to the sign's intended
meaning. At other times the absence of information on a sign commands
attention due to its dichotic promotion of nothingness. A blank/erased/
sprayed/ letter less/faceless sign is frequently honoured with its
own inherent humour, serving no purpose but to fulfil its own temporary
uselessness. |
